6-7 apples, peeled and chopped
1 cup cranberries, fresh or frozen
1-2 tbsp. maple syrup
1-2 tsp. lemon zest
1 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup cold butter
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 cup cranberries, fresh or frozen

Directions
- Toss apples, cranberries, maple syrup and lemon zest together in a large baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. Cut in cold butter with a knife or a pastry blender, until crumbly.
- Drizzle buttermilk over mixture and stir with a fork until just combined to form a soft and sticky dough.
- Drop tablespoonfuls of dough into 6-8 even mounds on top of the fruit mixture.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 400 F for 30-35 minutes, until the top has turned a golden brown.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, frozen yogurt or whipped cream.
