Pita Chips

Cinnamon sugar
An easy way to make plain pitas more exciting.

Serves: 40 pita triangles
Prep Time: 5 min
Cooking Time: 7-8 min
Total:  13 min

Ingredients
5 pitas (white or whole wheat)
1 tbsp. butter or margarine, melted, or olive oil

Sweet
granulated sugar
cinnamon
Olive oil and oregano

Spicy
cayenne
paprika
curry powder
cumin
salt
pepper

Herb
rosemary
oregano
thyme
basil
salt
pepper

Directions
  1. Cut pita into triangle pieces, about 8 pieces per pita.  Place slices on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.  Depending on the size of your baking sheet, you may have to make two batches.
  2. If using a combination of spices or herbs, prepare mixture in a small bowl.
  3. Brush with melted butter or oil and sprinkle with seasoning.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 7-8 minutes, or until crisp.
  5. Serve savory pita chips with dips or hummus, and the sweet pita chips with dessert hummus or healthy chocolate spread.
