2 large handfuls fresh green beans, washed and trimmed
1/3 cup water
1 tbsp. butter or margarine
1-2 cloves garlic, pressed
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 cup walnut pieces, toasted

Directions
- Put water in a large frying pan and heat over medium heat.
- Add beans and cover with a lid, allowing them to steam for 4-5 minutes until they are bright green and tender.
- Remove beans from pan and drain water. Set beans aside.
- Melt butter in pan and add garlic. Saute for 1 minute.
- Add beans, lemon juice and walnuts, and gently stir to coat.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve immediately, as a side dish for meat or fish.
