Garlic Bread

Serves: about 8-10 slices per half baguette, freezes well.
Prep Time: 5-7 min
Cooking Time: 20-30 min
Total:  35 min

Ingredients
1 quality French baguette, white, whole wheat, sourdough etc.
3-4 tbsp. butter or margarine, softened
2 cloves garlic, pressed
1 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. basil, or fresh basil
pepper

Directions
  1. In a small bowl, combine butter, garlic, oregano, basil and pepper.
  2. Slice baguette in half, then cut 1 inch slices, either straight or on the diagonal.
  3. Spread butter mixture on the inside of each slice.
  4. Wrap each half baguette in tin foil. If desired, freeze one of them for later.
  5. Place in a preheated oven at 350 F for 20-30 minutes, or until the bread has warmed and the butter mixture has melted.  Can also be heated from frozen.
